:) KZ Friendz Friendship Celebration

We just had our KZ Friendz Friendship Celebration... it was awesome!

The kidz did an incredible job of bringing their friendz...wow...way to go! The 5th and 6th graders even had to move to C1 (a much larger space) to accommodate the huge numbers of kidz. 99 kidz last night (preschool-6th grade) WooHoo!

Thank you to all the leaders who are passionate about loving children and creating a place where kidz can learn about Jesus in a fun way and learn how how to share their faith with friends.

Driving Home The Point: Week of September 2-8, 2007

This week in KidZone Ministries, we learned that we can rely on God.

Bible Story: David Becomes King

Key Verse: PSALM 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble."

@Home with your Pre-Schooler: Help you preschooler make a crown by folding a long piece of aluminum foil in half, folding it in half again, and stapling it. While you're making the crown together, talk to your preschooler about what being king means. Then encourage your preschooler to wear the crown and pretend to be king. Ask your child what God might want a king to do.

@Home with your Elementary age child: Play a game of "If I were king, I would..." Ask your child to share what he or she would want to change if he or she were king-- and how God might bring about the changes. For example, a child might want all the world to have enough to eat and might ask God to reveal to scientists a wonderful, nutritious plant that can grow in deserts.

THROUGH JESUS, GOD SHOWED US HOW TO RELY ON GOD WITH EVERY STEP OR OUR LIVES. BECAUSE OF JESUS' COURAGE, WE CAN BELIEVE THAT TRUSTING GOD WILL ALWAYS BE WORTH IT!

What is my child going to study this year?

The 3-year Scope & Sequence of the curriculum that KidZone uses, provides an overview of the Bible every three years. To help students understand the Old Testament as a whole, learners explore it chronologically during the summer and fall quarters. Winter and spring quarter FaithWeaver lessons focus on the New Testament.

Driving Home The Point: Week of August 19-25, 2007

This week in KidZone Ministries, we will learn that
God wants us to solve conflict peacefully.

Bible Story: Abigail Makes Peace ( 1 Samuel 25:1-35 )

Didya Know: Abigail put her plea for forgiveness in the larger context of God's plan for David's life. Because she was able to look beyond herself and to see how the conflict would affect God's plan for David, she was able to convince him not to kill Nabal and his men.

Key Verse: Romans 12:17-18 "Never payback evil with more evil. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone."

@Home: Watch a favorite TV show with your child, or read a favorite story together. Keep any eye out for conflict in the story, and discuss the conflict with your child. Together brainstorm possible alternatives to solve the conflict peacefully. Mention that Jesus is the ultimate peacemaker because he offers everyone forgiveness instead of justice.

AS MUCH AS MOST OF US DISLIKE CONFLICT, IT'S INEVITABLE. BUT WITH JESUS AT OUR SIDE WE CAN HANDLE IT IN A WAY THAT HONORS HIM: PEACEABLY!
