Driving Home The Point: Week of September 16-22, 2007

This week in KidZone Ministries, we are learning that God wants us to repent when we sin.

Bible Story: God Forgives David

Key Verse: 1 John 1:9 "But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness."

@Home with your Pre-Schooler: Help your preschooler practive giving hugs and saying "I'm sorry." Think of something you want to ask your preschooler's forgiveness for, then give your child the apology and a hug. Then ask your child to do the same.

@Home with your Elemntary age child: Talk about forgiveness as a gift that family members can give one another. Set out some boxes, gift-wrap supplies, slips of paper, and markers. Have everyone write a note offering forgiveness. Suggest that the notes be wrapped in a pretty package and presented to a family member.

SIN SEPERATES US FROM GOD, BUT JESUS JOINS US BACK THROUGH HIS DEATH AND RESURECTION. THROUGH HIM WE HAVE NEW LIFE, AND THE CHANCE TO REPENT AND BEGIN AGAIN!

Driving Home The Point: Week of September 9-15, 2007

This week in KidZone Ministries, we learned that being kind honors God and others.

Bible Story: David Is Merciful to Mephibosheth "Mephi"

Key Verse: Romans 12:10 "Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other."

@Home with your Pre-Schooler: Help your preschooler begin to learn about kindness by involving him or her in the care of a pet. Help your child understand that we're kind to pets by feeding them regularly, making sure they have what they need, and by not mistreating them. If you don't have pets, have your preschooler put birdseed out for wild birds and then watch as the birds eat it. Help your child see that you can be kind to pets, as David was kind to Mephibosheth.

@Home with your Elementary age child: Elementary kids know what it means to be kind-- they just find it hard to practice what they know. Play "A Kindness a Day" with them. As a family, agree to do something find for each family member each day for a week. At the end of the week, talk about how those kindnesses brightened you lives.

BECAUSE OF JESUS' ULTIMATE ACT OF LOVE AND KINDNESS--DYING ON THE CROSS FOR US--WE ARE FREE FROM DEATH. LET'S SHARE HIS KINDNESS WITH OTHERS AND SPREAD THE LOVE!
