What will my child be learning this year?

The 3-year Scope & Sequence of the curriculum that KidZone uses, provides an overview of the Bible every three years. To help students understand the Old Testament as a whole, learners explore it chronologically during the summer and fall quarters. Winter and spring quarter FaithWeaver lessons focus on the New Testament.

Driving Home The Point: Week of November 11th - 8th, 2007

This week in KidZone Ministries, we are learning that when we feel alone, GOD IS WITH US.

Bible Story: God Speaks To Elijah in a Whisper (1 Kings 19:9-18)

Key Verse: Isaiah 41:10 "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strenghten you and help you. I will hold you up in with my victorious right hand."

@Home with your child: Plan a fun family outing-- a game of Frisbee in the park, roller skating, or a meal at a fun resturant, for example. Make sure that everyone takes a "souvenir" from the experience (a ticket stub, a leaf from the park, a cup). Talk about how good it feels to do things with people who love us. Then talk about God's love, and ask kids to think of times that they feel God's love is with them. Explain that God is always with them, and ask them to keep their souveniers where they'll see them often to remind them that God is always with them.

WHEN JESUS LEADS OUR LIVES, WE ARE NEVER ALONE. EVEN WHEN WE'RE DISCOURAGED OR LONELY, WE CAN EXPERIENCE HIS PRESENCE--AND THE SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF OTHER CHRISTIANS.

Key Verse: Exodus 20:2-3

@Home with your child: Have each family member draw a picture of a favorite hero from TV, movies, or other stories. Talk about what it would be like to be that hero's "sidekick" or helper. Then have everyone draw something that represents God. Talk about how to be God's helper. Be sure to discuss the difference between any heroes named and God. Ask why we should choose to serve God.

JESUS HONORS THOSE WHO FOLLOW HIM. HAVING A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS ALWAYS REQUIRES SACRIFICE, BUT ALWAYS BRINGS PEACE AND ASSURANCE.
